Friendship Is Magic [1] (Eng. My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic) is an animated series that airs on The Hub. As of January 2012, the third season is being shown in the United States, and the second season is being shown in Russia. It also broadcasts internationally to other countries in more than ten languages. The animated series was made under the direction of Lauren Faust. Faust attempted to challenge the established nature of the existing My Little Pony series by creating a deeper character and adventure setting. After the first season, Lauren stepped down as creative director and was replaced by Jason Thiessen. [2] Lauren Faust is also known for her participation in projects such as the animated series The Powerpuff Girls and Foster: Home for Fantasy Friends. The main character is a unicorn named Twilight Sparkle, a student of Princess Celestia, who sat at the books all the time and did not want to communicate with anyone. Seeing how the heroine buried herself in her studies, the princess gives her the task of finding friends and sends Twilight and her assistant, a dragon named Spike, to Ponyville. There she meets different ponies, her new friends: the cocky Rainbow, the elegant Rarity, the hardworking Applejack, the timid Fluttershy and the hyperactive Pinkie Pie. Together they explore the city, solve the problems of the inhabitants and find new friends. Every time Twilight learns something new about friendship, she tells Celestia about it.
